The Smell of Clean Laundry

I am obsessed with the smell of clean laundry. Yes I know you are saying that this is normal but I am obsessed. So I ran out of laundry soap so while at the grocery store I thought I should pick some up. With my cart full due to starting at the other end of the grocery store I found myself stuck in the aisle trying to decide which kind smelled the best. Now see I grew up with Tide. Have used Tide for as long as I can remember and all I could think about was what if one smelled better. I knew if I found one I would change Laundry soaps in a second. Since I hadn't really had the chance to smell all the other 30 plus varieties offered I decided to open each one and give it a smell. I am sure I looked like a retard and I don't even know what the store workers would have said if they had caught me, but I proceeded to open them all and take a whiff. Now let me say that some were not so great. After I was done my head was spinning from so many fragrance. Oh and why on earth would they want to make laundry soap fragrance free. I mean come on. Due to my nose hurting and head spinning I grabbed the TIDE bottle and hurried to check out.
My ice cream was melting and my frozen food was now getting room temperature. Needless to say I am obsessed. Sometimes I will be thinking of the clean smell of laundry and have to just walk in the my laundry room to get that amazing smell. I love these two little shelves and what joyous scents they put off.
Bounce dryer sheets are wonderful as well. I love how they smell and when I put a load in the dryer I often throw in three or four the help out with the smell. Yes I am a freak about laundry. Now you could say this is a new obsession so I am still learning. Sometimes when I put my clothes on in the morning I am thoroughly disappointed if I cannot smell the clean laundry smell and will throw the clothes back in the hamper to wash them again, even know they are perfectly clean. I tell you I am obsessed. So for those of you who really know me.... I am going crazy. If anyone has great laundry suggestions, stories, or better smelling laundry please pass the info on. I would love it!
****Oh and on a side note I think I should invent a Laundry soap, fabric softner and dryer sheet that all smell the same. Then the laundry would all smell perfect. The three or four different smells really throws things off****

House sitting "Little Jack Baur Jensen"

Janelle and Jeremy Jensen headed off to sunny Florida for a little vacation and I have had the wonderful pleasure of house sitting their dog Little Jack Baur. Their 3-4 lb dog is definitely the size of some of Millie's raw hides. Not to mention that Millie, a two foot tall, 50 lb dog towers over little 6 inch tall Jack. Nonetheless Jack has held his own and even become pretty good friends with Millie. So I thought I would post some funny things that have happened and some pictures I captured.
First off Millie has been so excited to play and I find her hunched down pawing at Jack. Now one paw at Jack is like a massive weight coming down on him, but he is quick and fights back with his gnarly teeth.
Second each time I fed Millie, Jack would sneak in under Millie and steal a piece of her food. He would then dart from the laundry room and run under the bed to eat his treat. A little side note about Millie's food. One piece of Millie's food is equivalent to like 6 pieces of Jack's food. Anyway Millie finally figured out what he was doing and she started chasing after him each time only to find out she couldn't run under the bed and get him.
Third there have been some run around the house chases that have taken place. Millie will chase Jack over the couches, under the tables, in the kitchen, around and under the bed and then back into the family room. Jack is definitely a lot quicker than Millie so it has been super funny.
Lastly Jack has found a few places to retreat when he is sick of Millie being a huge pest. Millie is up and ready to play with Jack 24-7, and only for so long can Jack handle it. So when he is done he runs and hides under the bed or in his kennel.
In the mix of running, playing and having fun I think that Millie has given Jack a run for his money. So they have both been tuckered out at the end of the day. This has been a great relief for some relaxing nights. This is the two of them half asleep on the couch.
My favorite thing about having Jack around these last few days has been him cuddling up on my lap and being so close. He is one of those dogs that loves to cuddle, which I have enjoyed. On several occasions this has been Jack on my lap.

I'm Yours- By Jason Mraz

So this last summer I fell in love with this song. I thank my dear friend Jessica Hansen for making me listen to it. Anyway finally it was released as a single by Mr Mraz. I also give tribute to Ryan Grover for introducing me to Mraz and giving me the wonderful cd SHIZZLE, full on great songs. So a tribute to this wonderful song and to bring back wonderful memories of the fun summer at Atlas with all the wonderful girls I worked with. For some reason when this song comes on I have the biggest smile on my face! The song should be playing while your reading this.
I'm Yours Lyrics- Jason Mraz
Well you done done me and you bet I felt it
I tried to be chill but you're so hot that I melted
I fell right through the cracks
and now I'm trying to get back
before the cool done run out
I'll be giving it my bestest
Nothing's going to stop me but divine intervention
reckon its again my turn to win some or learn some
I won't hesitate no more, no more
It cannot wait, I'm yours
Well open up your mind and see like me
Open up your plans and damn you're free
Look into your heart and you'll find love love love
Listen to the music of the moment maybe sing with me
Ah, la peaceful melodys
It's your God-forsaken right to be loved love loved love love
So I won't hesitate no more, no more
It cannot wait I'm sure
There's no need to complicate
Our time is short
This is our fate, I'm yours
I've been spending way too long checking my tongue in the mirror
And bending over backwards just to try to see it clearer
But my breath fogged up the glass
And so I drew a new face and laughed
I guess what I'm saying is there ain't no better reason
To rid yourself of vanity and just go with the seasons
It's what we aim to do
Our name is our virtue
I won't hesitate no more, no more
It cannot wait I'm sure
There's no need to complicate
Our time is shortThis is our fate, I'm yours
Well no no, well open up your mind and see like me
Open up your plans and damn you're free
Look into your heart and you'll find love love love love
Listen to the music of the moment come and dance with meah, la one big family
It's your God-forsaken right to be loved love love love
I won't hesitate no more
Oh no more no more no more
It's your God-forsaken right to be loved, I'm sure
Theres no need to complicate
Our time is short
This is our fate, I'm yours
No I won't hesitate no more, no more
This cannot wait I'm sureThere's no need to complicate
Our time is short
This is our fate, I'm yours, I'm yours

Locks Of Love

So for the past several months I have wanted to chop my hair and donate it to Locks of Love. I saw Hilary Swank do it on Oprah and so I thought why not. I mean my hair grows fast and I would love to give to others who can't grow hair like mine. After serious contemplation I went into cut it only to half chicken out and half wait for it to grow a little longer. So with the new year I just felt I needed a change. Last week I called my good friend Brittany and schedule an appointment to cut it.

BEFORE

To Donate your hair to Locks of Love they have some specific requirements. Your hair can't be bleached.. you must donate at least 10 inches... you must put the hair in a ponytail or braid and cut it.

THE CUT

I had no idea what I wanted my hair to look like or the style I wanted so I told Brittany- I trust you just do what you want. She did an awesome job and I love my hair. I haven't had my hair short since kindergarten when I had a mushroom cut. See below

AFTER HAIR

I love it. I am so glad I took the plug and chopped it off. My next post will be the hair all ready and packaged up to send to Locks of Love.

The Element

I was driving home yesterday and had stopped at the bank to deposit a check. With the few spare minutes I had while waiting, I took time to look down and on my odometer and I saw this! There is something cool about looking down when the mileage hits a perfect number.

I purchased the element during the summer and went to vegas to pick it up with some girls from work. I have loved it each and everyday. It is wonderful in the snow and Millie loves the rides up to Sandy. I have packed the thing full and it fits everything. People who ride in the back alway comment on how roomy and spacious it is. So this is a tribute to my wonderful black element. Yes it does look like a box, but one awesome box at that. Until you have been in one you can't bash.

Best Friends For Years To Come

Trey Robinson and Logan Barnett are destined to be best friends for a long time. I mean come on, they are already best friends. After an evening with them I was sore from laughing so hard. Everytime I watch Trey we end up watching Aladdin. It is so funny. We always go through this huge movie selection and we lay them all out and in the end Aladdin always gets picked. My favorite is when Aladdin comes to the palace and there is the parade. Everytime it comes on Trey dances and jumps up and down. Usually after it is all over he will say "again" so we watch it all over again. These two cute pictures are of the boys fully engaged in the movie.

On this special evening there was a fog that played a rap song. Just with a press of a button it plays and I caught the boys dancing. Check out the video. It is really blurry since the boys are jumping so much! Trey has the jumping down and logan has this stand still shake going. Both I think could totally get the ladies in a few years.

Answers

My dearest and best friend Lindsey Jill is a fanatic about blogging. I love it. I think she motivates me to blog. She got tagged and tagged me of course. So I thought I would write answers to the questions. I recently watched Catch and Release for the millionth time. I really like it. Anyway there is a scene in the movie where they are at dinner and she blurts out things people don't know about her. Her fiancee, who has passed away, never knew certain things her. As I thought about that I realized I don't ever want to look back and think I wish I would have told people this or this about me. Since then I have been obsessed with questions and getting to know people more. Games like twenty questions.... Well anyway I will stop blabbing and get to the questions and answers.

10 Years Ago: I was in 7th grade at Eastmont Middle School. I was heavy into soccer and played in the Orchestra. I sat next to this cello player and secretly fell in love with the intrument. I was in those awkward stages of growing up and had many more freckles than I do now (believe it or not I really did)

Snacks I enjoy (some of them I love): Dr. Pepper, Chocolate, Wheat Thins and Babybel cheese, Ice Cream, German Chocolate cake, Funfetti Cake, ok ALL Desserts, Bread, Twix and Snickers, lays ruffle chips with my grandmothers clam dip, the list goes on and on.

5 Things on My To Do List: 1. Get a new drivers license 2. Put my kitchen back together 3. Get a birthday card for Tony 4. Get screws for my license plate for the element 5. Go running

Things I would do if I became a billionaire: Remodel the Provo house and sell it. Purchase a new house, new car and new wardrobe. I would pay for all debits for close friends and family. Donate money to organizations I support. Go to africa. Go to South America and build homes for people in need. Buy a new camera, take photography classes and go on trips to take pictures. Start a business. Buy a building in a city and remodel a loft. Buy a library. The list goes on...

3 Bad Habits I have: 1. Nail biting 2. Starting too many project at any given time 3. Spoiling Ms. Millie

5 Places I have lived: 1. Sandy 2. Raintree in Provo 3. Foxwood in Provo 4. 700 East Home. (Sadly I have only lived in Sandy and Provo)

Jobs I have Had: 1. Kneaders Bakery 2. The best company to work ever ATLAS MARKETING! 3. Working for Connie Stratton at Sundance 4. Dr Jenkins Dentist Office
5. Marine Products

Things people don't know about me:
- I love showers and baths. I am obsessed. I would love to take three a day, but it just doesn't work out so sometimes I only get two. When I get out I usually am thinking about when I will be about to take another one
- I love to see movies. I have this thing in the last year or so that I really only like to watch movies that make me happy after I see them (ok really just don't like scary movies- not because I am afraid I just don't not coming out of a movie and feeling good)
- I have to have my closet color cordinated. The clothes start on the left with blacks and are organized to the right to white.
- I want my little girl to play the cello and I would love to take lessons. I want a music room and I want to teach harp lessons.
- I love Dr. Pepper. I can live without it and I don't have to have it. I know this because I have stopped drinking it several times and I do ok. That doesn't mean I like to do it. So each morning I get a Dr. Pepper and I enjoy it so much. It is the drink I can always drink and think I always will like it.

Well I hope you have all enjoyed reading a little bit about me. I will not tag anyone but I do encourage you to open yourself up to others. Let people know the real you. It can do no harm.
