Cyclocross

I have been spending some saturdays the last several weeks watching Cyclocross. It is a blast to watch. I have taken my camera along on a few of them so I thought I would post some pictures.

Thank you Alex for letting me post pictures!!!

Christmas Tree

I decorated my Christmas Tree today.... My kind mother came down to help me and I am so glad. We had to put lights on the tree, which was a pain. My mom brought down a box of Christmas lights only to find out they were icicle lights. So I had the bright idea that icicle lights might be really good to put on a Christmas tree, because each strand that hangs down would cover the branches. It was a wonderful idea. My mom is a very talented lady and she turned my tree into something beautiful. I love you mom.

Got a lot done...

So today was one of those days that I got a lot done. At work I accomplished a lot, which was a good feeling. Finally after a long month my desk is becoming clean from the stacks of paperwork. I finally feel like it is organized. After work I rushed home to get some work done outside before the sun went down. I hate how dark it gets so early. I got out the lawn mower and decided that would be the best way to get the leaves up from the back yard. I was impressed at how fast it was to bag them that way. So I took the lawn mower to the front yard and decided to tackle the huge pile. I made good progress, but still have a long way to go.....

After I did some laundry, put up the Christmas tree- that is right. I figured it would be best to slowly take the next few days getting the tree up and decorated. I never have the block of time to get it all done at once... so slow and steady is the way to go. The plan is to have it all up and ready for the day after Thanksgiving. What can I say I am a Christmas girl. I love the holidays and love to decorate for it. All I can say is that this year's tree is bigger and better than last year's already.... (thanks Ashley)

(don't mind the pumpkin in the same picture as my Christmas tree... it will be put away soon)

So I haven't blogged for awhile so I thought I would do some quick catching up. There are stories but I will spare them on the blog and just get to the good stuff, which is the pictures.

New Photography Blog Post

So I finally got around to getting the family pictures of Janelle, Jeremy and Brody Jensen posted. There were so many pictures, but I just posted a few. Check them out at photography blog

One of those days....

So today was one of those days.... not good or bad.... just one of those days. Work was ok, long but ok. It had it's good and bad moments. On my way home, while driving down center street some guy decided he needed to be in my lane. So he moved right on over only to get me honking at him. I was a little too late and he bumped my front side. He pulled back in his lane just in time to run a red light. So I step on the gas and ran it as well. I wasn't about to let this guy hit me and drive off. So I followed him several blocks, riding his tail and still nothing. So again I laid on my horn and brighted him. Finally he pulls over and asks what my problem is. So I released the beast in me (sorry dude- long, emotional day at work). My car was fine, but the guy needed a serious lesson in driving and politeness.
So after my hard day the only thing I wanted to was to ride my bike. So I hoped on the trainer and rode my bike for awhile and watched new 90210. All in all it has been one of those days where all I wanted to do was talk to that one person... so I am glad they called.

p.s. did I mention that I have been a terrible blogger lately. I will post more!

Fall or Winter

The last two days have been a drastic in that Utah can't decide if it is fall or winter. Being from Utah I love both of these season the most. In purchasing my home I have a very large tree in the front and back yard. Now during the hot summer months I love that tree because it shades my house and makes the heat bearable. Well now that is fall I find myself cursing that big tree. The leaves have started to fall and my front yard has had a thick blanket of leaves after just a week or so. So two nights ago I came home from work at five to it rapidly getting dark outside(curse the time change). I had set the goal to rake leaves that night and so I was sticking to it. After getting them all raked into one large pile I figured bagging them was for another day. The next morning I go out to leave from work only to find that on top of the large pile of leaves, more had fallen and it looked as if I hadn't even raked. Pure frustration kicked in. I guess I should know that since maybe a fourth of the tree's leaves have fallen and this will be a loosing battle over the next little while. Still it was still very discouraging. Did I mention the first time I raked them they were wet from the weekend rain storm.... boy am I need for a treat after today's weather.

For a skier and someone who loves the snow it is always a good thing to wake up to SNOW on the ground, but that first snow storm isn't always the best. I think that Utah driver must fully forget in the short few months that we haven't had rain or snow how to drive in it. It is comical to me seeing as if you have lived here it is the same every year. Beside the point. Driving down from Salt Lake looked like this

I don't think I got over fifty five the whole way down to Orem.

Oh and it wouldn't be a first snow storm without some police on the side of the freeway due to an accident. Anyway bring on winter...

Halloween Just Isn't Halloween Without...PUMPKIN CARVING

I have not carved pumpkins for a few years... and I am not very good at it. So it was good to brush up on the carving skill this year. I would personally like to thank whoever came up with the idea of stencils for pumpkin carving. They work great.

Recap on the last few days. They have been uneventful but still....
I have had this sickness that I just can't seem to shake.... I think we are going on seven days tomorrow, and IT SUCKS. This whole week has been miserable and by Friday I was dying for the weekend. Finally I woke up feeling better Friday morning, but I still have this raspy voice and a nasty cough.

Halloween was super uneventful. Just dinner and hitting up OZZ with a friend, which was a good time. I have a confession that I have lived in Provo for three years and lived off center street in Provo for the past year and a half and have never eaten at Octavio's. So it was good to get in there and try out the restaurant. I had a very tasty BBQ chicken pizza. It is always a pleasure going to the ghetto OZZ and playing pool.

I got to spend Saturday morning sleeping in and hanging out with Millie. It was really nice to just relax. Millie is the best person to wake up to in the morning, because she always is right there to give me attention. I think it is more that she wants attention, but she is like glue to me and I enjoy it.
