Delaney LaRue Jenkins
Born: Monday June 21, 2010
Weight: 6 lbs 4 oz

She is absolutely beautiful

I got to visit her in the hospital and she was wide awake the majority of the time I was there. So cute.

Apparently she is good at the stink eye

Kennedy and I holding Delaney. Cooper and Kennedy just adore her!

This is a the video Andy sent. She is adorable!

New neighbor....

So a new guy moved in across the street. He has a dog and well meet...

KING

He is an Alaskan Malamute and he is HUGE!

I came home from work yesterday to King hanging out in the backyard with Millie. Apparently they are new best friends. He is always trying to escape and come over. Millie can pretty much walk under him. It is funny!

St George Tri...

So Jen and I went to St. George for both of our first Triathlons. I signed up to do the Sprint and Jen did the Olympic.

Jen's parents and sister made the voyage with us and it was so fun to have them there. We headed down on Friday and crashed at my parents house, which was perfect for all of us. We headed out to get registered on Friday night and Jen and I thought we needed a little pre swim to get a feel for swimming in open water.

Jen and I getting used to being in wet suits and open water

Notice the top of this picture Jen is just coming into the picture

I am glad we swam the night before. It helped calm my nervous about doing the race.

Car ride out to the race

A nice good luck hug!

Jen and I hauling our gear to the transition area

Since Jen is a rock star, she did the Olympic. She started about a half hour before me so this is her coming out of the water.

Jen took her sweet time in transition, but she rocked it.

This was me waiting to swim. It was so hot, but the water was pretty cold, so it felt good. Funny story about. I had just gotten in the water and I found this rock (I am standing on it right now). Since I was one of the first to get in the water right after this picture it got pretty crowded. I was standing on my rock next to this girl I had met (she is on the left of me). All of the sudden this girl comes in and pushes me of the rock I was standing on and gets up on it. I was pissed. Me being the person I am I didn't do anything about it. My new friend I had met after about 30 seconds turns around and pushes the girl off the rock so I could get back on. The girl turned around all bugged and then swam to the outside of the group. It was funny.

Me taking off for the hardest swim of my life.

Jen's parents were so great to go down and support us. It was hot and they sat outside for hours waiting for us to finish. This is a picture of Mary Lane hanging out.

Me coming out of the water. I was so tired I couldn't even run! So I walked..

Putting all my bike gear on

and I am off. I was already tired at this point and I was only 1/3 of the way done

and she stopped and chatted and relaxed!

getting ready for the run. I forgot my helmet was still on!

Jen showing us her medal! She did so awesome. Plus she won $50 to the running store in St. George.

We had a lot of fun. I wasn't as sore and tired as I thought I would be, but I definitely had was glad I did it!

10 weeks... count down begins

I have committed to do a full Olympic triathlon in August in Bear Lake. So I have 10 weeks to get in shape. Training started this morning. Millie and I headed out for a run this morning. I came across this picture and it made me think how little Millie used to be.

I spent the first half of the run fighting Millie. She would run faster than me, so I would have to pull her back. Then she would find something and stop and I would keep running to only get yanked back when we hit the end of the leash. I think she got a little tired because the second half of the run she was a much better. She was tired and when we got home she just layed on the cold cement. All in all the first day of running was good.

Took Millie for a swim...

The other night I took Millie up to Deer Creek for a little swim.. She was in Heaven! She loved every second of it.

She just kept wanting me to throw it again and agian.

Millie checking out a fish that had been caught..

The water was so calm that evening. I wish I had taken up my wet suit and done an open water swim.. I will definitely be going up there next week to swim.

This is a video of Millie fetching the ball in the lake. She is so funny!

Boise Half Ironman

I headed to Boise this weekend for the Boise Half Iron man. My good friends Jen and Grover were doing it. Friday we started the long drive up to Boise. We got to Boise just in time for Jen to register and get a picture at the finish line ...

It was AMAZING to see this race. It started in Lucky Peak Reservoir, which was beautiful. The weather was perfect. Once we parked we had a nice little hit to get to the reservoir. Everyone was excited...

They dropped their bikes and got ready for the swim.

Jen and Grover

The crowd at the reservoir was amazing... it was so cool to see all the athletes lines up in their heats to get ready to swim.

This was Jen's heat getting ready to get int he water. Jen is at the very end waving!!!

And they are off!!! 1.2 miles to swim

Grover coming out of the water...

Jenny Lane coming out of the water.. smile on her face like always.

Jen's transition to her bike.

After the swim we ran a few errands and then headed downtown to see the bike to run transition. We missed Grover int he transition and first lap run, but we got to see Jen.

Jen on her first lap of the run...

Grover Finishing.... He did awesome.
He finished in 5 hrs and 34 mins.

Jen rocked it!! She is amazing.
She finished in 5 hrs and 56 mins.

She had the biggest smile on her face the whole time!

Jen after the race picking up her stuff

I came around the corner of a truck and saw Grover sitting in it away from the wind.

Jen and Grover after the race. They are both so inspiring to me

Jen and her friend Stephen

I was truly so inspired and seeing the race was awesome. I am so glad I went up. Kirk and Marylane Newman were so awesome to let me tag along. It really made me want to do it... So I have high hopes for next year doing it! I know it seems crazy, but watching the race really made me want to do it.

On top of seeing the race I fell in love with Boise. The whole city was so awesome. It felt like a mix between Colorado and Salt Lake City. Lucky Peak reservoir was so pretty.
