LEAF

So awhile back Alex and I were walking out of a movie. In the freezing cold I was in a rush to get to the car. Alex stopped dead in his tracks and was starring at the ground. I looked over at him wondering what was going on. At first glance I didn't really notice anything, but as he pointed I finally caught on to what he was looking at. He had me snap a few photos with my phone and I hadn't really done anything with them, but tonight I was playing around with them on Photoshop. The program truly is amazing. The pictures were not good quality and the flash on the phone make one of them bright, but still a very cool leaf.

This one is just converted to Black and White

This one I changed the Hue and Saturation and cropped photo

This one is Black and White at a higher contrast and cropped

This one is inverted and cropped
This one is Posterized

The possibilities are endless and that is what I love about Photoshop. I love photos like this that you can just edit and and play with. I am always finding cool new features.

These are the original photos I took with no editing at all.

Night with the Kids

I had a wonderful night up babysitting Cooper and Kennedy in Midway. It is always nice to spend the evening with them. They have such an amazing way of making you feel like the most important person in the world. They are always so ecstatic to see you and tell you all about their lives. It is so fun. It was fun to take pictures with them.

Updates to my Possessions

So recently work got a new laptop and phone and I am grateful for the updates. My old laptop was in need of an update and my phone was not working. Whenever my alarm went off, or I got a text message my phone made this bubbly noise. It was almost like my phone was under water. Anyway I am glad for my new Sony Laptop. The best part is that I have a finger pad that takes my fingerprint to log me in. So awesome. Technology these days has come so far.

I also got a new Blackberry Curve. It is a big phone for a girl and there is no more putting it in my back pocket. It doesn't fit. I also had the IT guys fix it all of for my emails. As I left he told me it would take a little while to update all my contacts. I was a little confused at first so I asked him what he meant. He said he uploaded the contact list for work and I now have some 3,000 names under my work contacts. Oh boy.

On the topic of technology and things changing the other day I was in a conversation about if I still had my nice dance dresses from high school. I was saying how I had them all saved for a dress up chest for my future girl. Anyway we were joking about how when my kids are in high school how will it be. I mean when I was in high school you had 80's dress up days.... so does that mean that when my kids are in high school they will have like 99's or 00's dress up days. And what will that be like. Maybe just maybe it will pay off to save some of my dresses so people can wear them for stuff like that.

Hope for Days To Fly By

So I have had a string of not so great days for various reasons... two things have been bummed out, one of which is that on Sunday my furnace went out. That's right, on one of the coldest nights my furnace decides it doesn't want to work. So I called a company to come look at it yesterday night and to make my already emotional day worse he tells me I need a whole new furnace. He has a coworker come over and give me a bid on a new one. $4,009.00 dollars for everything... Just what I didn't need. Being in tears most the day, this just added more. I turned to my father for some of that great fatherly advice and he called a guy he knew. He told me to wait until we heard back from him, so Roomy Ash and I settled in knowing it was going to be a cold one! I was warm in bed with long pants, long sleeve shirt, sweatshirt, sheet, comforter and down comforter on me, but as I rolled out of bed at six this morning it was bitter cold in the house. So cold I worried if my pipes had froze, seeing that I swear you could almost see my breath inside. I felt so bad for Ashley downstairs. After being at my old job for a few hours helping catch them up on some stuff, I received a phone call from my dads friend. I met him at the house for a second opinion. He told me the furnace was ok and that I just need to replace the blower. Relief!!!! Anyway needless to say the heat is back on and working just great. I think I actually have it hotter than I normally would want it just because I can.
Lets hope for better days and for the next little while to go by fast.
